Tuesday, June 05, 2007 ( all about may and jun @ 5:15 PM ) ok ok... maybe i shud start with the public holiday (Vesak Day) on thur. 31 May 2007 Replugged Recital - Beyond My Room 2007 Yes! Today's the day to showcase to people other than Lucas, Genevieve and Bevlyn (yes, they are my classmates and my laoshi..) my singing skills. Have been learning in Replugged since last year 20th May. WooOah... already more than a year! Really grow to be quite attached to the place and the teachers there. Woke up around 830am to prepare (must dress nice nice and yet not too over the top) and got out of the house at 10am! Headed down to Renee's (my keyboardist) home so that we can do our FINAL run thru before the actual performance. Thou she was still fumbling over the interlude but I think she did shown alot of improvements. so THUMBS UP for Renee! (p/s: she only started learning keyboard for like 6mths so it was already considered quite good to be able to play the song) We left the house at 1215 so as to reach Replugged bt 1315. We are so kiasu cus we were thinking of being the 1st to arrive so that we can 'chop' a room and do some last last run thru again... See how nervous we are... *piAngz* Indeed, we were the 1st. Not even KangYang or Juliet were there yet (means no one open door also... =X) And thus we climbed the stairs down again to 7-11 and bought drinks. Bumped into KangYang who was also buying drinks there. =) Of course, the super kiasu Renee and me managed to grab a room and started our rehersals AGAIN.. I was nervous cus I could see that she's having some problems with the interlude and I was worried about how we can pass it off... Soon the place was filled with music enthusiasts and their supporters. Seeing the crowd made me even shaky.... my item was the 3rd one. The first guy (Tai An) performed and I think he gave a good start. He was visually entertaining (he bought props along k!) and he made us laugh thru out his performance. He sang some Jap song and there were lots of animal sounds within the song...oInk oiNk.. meow... etc etc... The 2nd guy (Alex) sang a more familiar song - Ju Hua Tai. Ok. Not too bad. He played his own accompany using the keyboard. I think his voice was not too bad. Got potential. Anyway, managed to chat with him after our performance. So another friend made at Replugged. =) Finally, it was my turn! OMG... to be honest, while Alex was singing, I was also trying to calm myself down by taking lots and lots of deep breath... it's really not easy to feel at ease when the audience are like just 1 hand away from you... I went up the 'stage' and my 'camera man' aka boyfriend came in and sat down at where i was sitting. He was holding onto the digi cam & my hp... Haha.. Bev thought I 'ordered' him to use 2 'cameras'... duH... I where got so zi lian... I did a short and lame intro... and turn to Renee and she started playing... "Teng... teng...teng......." I'm still comptemplating if I should upload the video cus I think I under performed... =( After what seems like forever to me, I finally sang finish the song! Bravo! Bravo! Great thanks for Renee for the music. Oh yar, this girl will be gg overseas for studies soon. All the best yar~ I stayed back for the 2nd session of the recital. The 2nd session was filled with (I would say) better singers/musicians. But overall it was still a very entertaining performance for all. Not forgetting that Bev, Juliet and Kangyang was so strongly welcomed by the crowd as we urged them to take the stage and sing for us. It was the 1st time Bev & Juliet sang together and they sang "Love Me". Oh~ It was damn nice lo... Kangyang sang "Kiss Goodbye". A nice ending to the whole recital. Think it's the very 1st time I see him serious abit in Replugged.. He's always laming with me... haHa... Photos time... Renee & Me!   Darling & me!  My Fav Pic of the Day!  After the recital, we headed down to Suntec City. IT FAIR!!!!! Bought a laptop from dear's friend whom we bumped into at the fair. Spent S$1399 on the laptop and dear said he will subsidise partial as part of our 3rd anni & my bday present. =) Now, I'm trying to get my house wireless so that I can use the internet via my laptop at home... 1 Jun 2007 Studio Wu - Evoke Musical Yea! Today's the day where I can get to see all the Pro Dancers from Studiowu perform their moves. The musical was held at Jubilee Hall. The very first time I went there was for nasco percussion concert - not as a performer but as a backstage helper. Should ask chenchin how enthu i was lo. haha... =X The musical started with the 1st act on Rage. wOAh.. indeed a very fury and bombastic act. The fire medicine (Huo Yao Wei) was very intense but I find some parts of the dance very messy... tsk tsk... but then my favourite instructor aka Bryan was in this act.. I think he's got the talent for such act.. he can show really fierce face... =p 2nd act was on Saddness.. my another favourite instructor Ishi was one of the main lead! He was like a Prince Charming tt day cus he wear white shirt with white blazor and was the good guy in the act... but towards the end, he was shot to death and he practically 'slept' on the stage for abt 7mins ba... haha... Oh yar.. he also sang his own composed song which I felt was quite nice... Another thing about the 2nd act was cus my favourite dance item of the musical was in this act. Emilin and 5 other girls were dancing to this song - Listen by Beyonce Knowles and I really loved it. Both the song and the dance... alot of feEling ar... nice nice.... Coming to the 3rd act was of course Happiness. I had a great time laughing at all the funny characters in this act.. there was Muthu, Jean Pierre, Kia Kia etc etc... Yutaki was also very cute! This act certainly got the audience laugh button on... The finale was "Over the Rainbow" sung by Andy and Ishi and "Qing Fei De Yi" by Yutaki. Poor Ishi, when he came out to sing, the mic was spoil and we couldn't hear him. End up him and Andy were performing 'mic-exchanging' stunts while singing... Managed to save the awkwardness with all the funny actions thou.. The musical ended at 10pm and mi and my sis loitered outside the hall waiting for the dancers to come out. Here's the photos!  3 Jun 2007 MY birthday!!! Gosh... so fast.. just a year ago I was at the Chalet with a whole big group of relatives and friends celebrating my 21st bday and today I'm celebrating my bday again! Times flies.. I'm getting old... =( I went to Queensway cus the stock for the adidias shoes which I was eyeing was finally here and I felt I badly wanted it today so .... =X Seeing that Ikea was like a stone throw away, I also went in to grab something for my room.. My room is in a total disaster mode and I really need to get some storage items to keep my 'rubbish' in place. I also bought some boxes ('cartons') which everyone thought was karang guni cupboards... duH... Met Huiling, Anthrea, Rodney, Joe & Eik Chyun at Chinatown cus Huiling has a good lobang for ktv. The ktv is called Ten Dollar Family KTV. Really very cheap lo... free flow of drinks (limited flavours) and we even got a free bowl of shark's fins! Don't expect top grade la... But the rooms were very cosy and very family lo... I like.. Smoke Free also!! Think I will go there more often instead of Kbox or partyworld. This is the very first time I celebrated my bday at KTV. Had bday celebrations for many others but nv myself. They bought mi a mango cake (somehow I think ALL my bday I always eat Mango Cake...but i like...) and they surprised me with poppers! I admit I was really caught off guard by those pOppers.. and I heard from witnesses that Anthrea Tan was the only one aiming directly at me while the other pOpped towards the air... Haha... she sure 'loves' me ar... =X We ate at the Mei Shi Jie and desserts was at the famous Wei Xiang Yuan and home sweet home after that. Photos will be up soon... Would like to express my thanks to the following people (in no order of preference): Wan Ting / Eik Chyun / Anthrea: - Thanks for the card! I really love it and I'm so touched by the efforts la! And sorry I mistook the broomsticks for fireworks... oOps. And thks for searching high and low for the bag. I know it was not easy. I really love you girls!!! *mUacks* Huiling / Joe / Rodney: - Nxt time just ask me directly la.. no need to go thru Patrick. Know each other so long le no need to hush hush on what to buy for me la... nowadays we very straightforward one.. haha.... anyway, thanks for getting the ORIGINAL S.H.E & Stephani CDs as well as the Mango Cake and the pOppers. hehee.. Corrine (my manager whom I doubt will ever read this): - Thanks for remembering my bday and getting me the Yes Saint Lauren Perfume. The bottle is very cute. =) And to the rest who smsed/msned/called me to wish me happy birthday Xiuting, Sutee, Zhong Xiao (actually I can't rem if you did... =X ), Chenchin (thru frdster), Louis, Keris, Yan Zhen, Eileen, Liting, Summer, Edison, Benny, Genevieve, Yvonne, Chien Wei, Xiu Sen, Siew Poh, Terence, Shi Fa, Wilfred, Jason, Kai Ge, Linyu, my sister and younger bro.... i hope i did not missed out anyone....if i did, i'm sorry. let me know k. i'l promise to credit mention you in the nxt entry. Of cus I must thank my dear boyfriend - Patrick Eng Teck Lin for skipping his driving lesson so as to countdown to my bday, for being the 1st person to said Happy Birthday to me face - to - face, for being the 1st person to sing Birthday song for me, for being the karang guni man on my bday (he carried the cartons... =x) and for helping to coordinate my bday celebration. Thank you! p/s: In case I start hearing any displeasure from this group of friends (who are xiuting, sutee, zhongxiao,chenchin).. urM.. i'm waiting for our Sun gathering then I will write down my thks to you and the present I got from you peeps k.
