( My MM Wrkshop BKK trip @ 1:39 PM )

I'm BACK!!!

Ok... to be more precise.. I am already back for 7 days...

Before I left for Bangkok, I was full of uncertainty and anxiety. Don't know what will happen, worried I cannot cope with the stress, scared that I will get lost in the airport etc etc... But guess what, now I'm so so so glad that I went for the trip. It has been a really fulfilling and enriching trip for me. Travelling alone really isn't that scary afterall... =)

Well, I'm sure alot of you are anticipating my very 1st entry after I come back from Bangkok. I shall not nag any further and bring you through my 6 days of BKK 'adventure'. Btw, expect lots of pictures!!!

16 Sep (Sun)
Flight - TG404
Depart - 1225 (SIN time)
Arrival - 1340 (BKK time)
note: BKK is 1hr behind SG's time

Some pics taken in the mid air...
taken when we are about to touch down in BKK airport

Oh.. they gave us orchid! reminded me of Singapore..
lunch....
thai airway...

After the plane has landed, I quickly on my hp to ensure that the network is working so that I can call my thai counterparts in case I got lost in the airport. Well, it wasn't that bad cus I obediently stood at the venue in which I was told to wait for them to pick me up.
Called up 'Tae', the guy who was supposed to pick me up and he told me he is carrying a Double A Paper Ream. I was rather amused by it cos I cannot imagine someone carrying that paper and walking around in the airport... haha..

As there were a total of 18 representatives from more than 10 countries, we were separated into a few groups and sent off in vans from the airport to the Hotel. The ride back to the hotel was almost 3hrs!! I was rather awake for the 1st 2hrs as I was chit chatting with Cindy (Malaysia) and a few others in the van. We even drop by a convenience store to shop for some drinks & food (my 1st shopping in Thailand!) but by the ride to the hotel was simply too tiring hence I dozed off...

We finally reached the hotel and I was pretty amazed at how such a rather majestic looking hotel was situated at such a ulu place.. but anyway...
Tarawadee Hotel!

..& apparantly elephants are largely used to decorate the hotel...

My hotel room: 4209
Welcome to my bedroom...
views from my balcony...notice the elephant again?

corridor....lift (nice design on the door.. it's actually mirrors!)...
lobby with small wine bar & live band area...

other nearby sceneries...

Oh yar. I forgot to introduce my roomie. She's a really nice and cheerful and bubbly woman. A very strong woman who single-handedly brought up her son (now 18yrs old) due to some unhappy incident...But my roomie is really strong and she never fails to make me smile every morning when she greets me. She really has great influence to make one happy.

Therese & me!!

Dinner was at the hotel restaurant and of course it was the time for more networking and getting prep for the coming days of torture.....

Day 2: 17 Sep. Mon
The start of the workshop. I almost felt like I was a participant in Survivor. There were so many people from different countries (p.s I was the only Sin Ga Po Lang) and everyone was like group together at times for ad-hoc presentations and projects.. rushing to meet that timeline and adhering to all the schedules.. Gosh..

Obviously there wasn't much time to relax and take pictures during the workshop. Anyway, who's interested in seeing all the stressful faces... =X

But of course, there's only 1 'person' who kept his smile on all the times...

Day 3: 18 Sep. Tue
Another tiring workshop day. But today is rather special cus it'll the country sharing day. Each country is supposed to present to EVERYONE their country best program. This was my very first time presenting to such a mult-national group and people with great status hence was rather nervous. And as usual, I rattled off like a bullet train for almost half the presentation.. It suddenly hit me that I was going too fast and I ask the audience "Am I going too fast?" and all of them were like smiling , nodding their heads and saying "yes..." Well, despite this, I was told tt I did pretty well for a 'first timer' hence I am rather pleased with my performance. I did managed to pull off some awkaward moments with my 'as-usual' cranky and crappy jokes... Haha...

I think everyone started to notice me after the presentation.

Day 4: 19 Sep. Wed
Finally! After being stuck in the hotel for 2.5days, we are travelling out! Yea.. dream on if you're guessing shopping or sight-seeing. We are going to the Head Office to present another important and even more serious reports to the big bosses... Now, tt's the most terrifying part of the workshop i guess... Well, we still ought to have some relaxation before the grilling...
Cindy, Vienna & me! Nice smiles...

some pics snapped while travelling...

oh..they haf mirror on the bus seats...
our lunch on the bus.. fried rice w scramble egg...
we wud like to include deric in the grp foto even thou he's aslp...

cheese!
mi & tae. he's a cute & gong gong guy.. haha
p/s: the other girl is Mik's gf...

I managed to survive thru the presentation. Wasn't as bad as I thought thou... Dinner was a 1hr ride from HQ and everyone was really in their relax mood as all presentations were over and the workshop has come to an end. No more stressful nights!!!

they got so high they started dancing round the place while singing "Sha La La"

oh.. my dinner tt night...

This has got to be the most enjoyable night I had ever since I came to BKK. Everyone was mad! Even the big bosses were letting their hair down and dancing and singing away. To be honest, I was even quite appalled by the dance steps of some of the thai colleagues.. looks like they have been dancing all their life.. hmm.. or should i say, clubbing all their life... haha... but they are really a bunch of fun and interesting peeps to be with..

Day 5: 20 Sep. Thur
Today is market visit day. No,not shopping. =(
But market visit to see how the business is doing in Thailand. The first task of the day was to go to the mill and do some green-ing. We're going to plant a tree!

Presenting the 'contestants' for Ms World.. haha
SG/MY
KR/TW/AUS/HK
in the van

me and mik!
Ok..so what's step 1? Dig hole?
Step 2: Plant the tree in firmly.
Last step: Water the tree!
TADA! We're done!
FYI. this is supposed to be the 'Asia countries' tree

Nice photo

some street sides photos i took during the market visit...
PINK taxi!

Well.. we managed to tweak our way with the 'tour guides' and thus we had about 2hrs for shopping!!
@ siam paragon
very nice lightings!!!
their MRT

Ok. 2hrs is definitely NOT enough to shop. There were so many so many shops I wanted to go into and so many so many shopping complex that I feel that even if you give me 1 day I also wouldn't be able to go through each and every single one of them! Oh my.. I want to return to Bangkok.. =X

Dinner was at a vietnamese cum thai restaurant. I don't really like dinner cus the food tasted too unique for me.

It was another 2hrs ride back to hotel from the restaurant and I nearly went into a coma... Was obviously exhausted by the continuous 5days of 'hardship'. But then tonight was also the last night in Thailand and I even planned not to sleep and just chit chat with the kakis till morning. FYI. I need to take the 5am van to the airport as this was the earliest van schedule for ppl. who are going back to their own country in the morning...

Packing up my lunggage...

till i was so bored i took a pic of myself.. haha

Time passed as we spent our 'last night' together in my room (p/s: my roomie had checked out cus she extended her stay and is staying in a hotel in Bangkok instead of this loooong distance hotel). Soon it was 430am and we packed any last belongings, wave goodbye to the kakis and hoping we'll see each other soon again...

Day 6: 21 Sep, Fri
My CR, Mik (country rep) had the responsibility to see me and Cindy (malaysia) to the airport and the 3 of us really black out in the van. I could have slept my way to the airport but the air con in the van was sooo strong, plus it was raining hence I couldn't get back to sleep as I was freezing away. Brrr...

We reached the airport and Cindy went to check in first as her flight was at 9am.

Had some coffee to perk us up and the 3 of us continued to chit chat till Cindy had to leave for her flight. Mik and I went shopping ard the airport and I snapped more pictures!
Presenting... the airport.... beautiful isn't it...

Bought some food goodies back as I realised I didn't buy any stuffs back for my SG colleagues. Well, i was just trying to spend up the Thai Baht...

Ah ha.. 1000am. Decided to go in. Once again, I'm left on my own....
a temple inside the departure hall
that's the plane i'm taking back to SG!
Bye bye thailand!

Btw, for both flights, I always get the window seat at the left of the plane and despite them being a 2 seater or 3 seater, I'm always alone... =) *think:bigger space*

the thais really love their King...
Chicken noodles.. tasted like maggie mee...

the clouds are just beneath us...
Welcome Back SG!

That's it. End of my BKK trip. What an adventure. What I thought would be the toughest period of my life actually ended up as one of the most memorable days in my life. To think I actually cried over the trip for nearly 3hrs...*throw face...*

Oh yar, when i touched down and saw my dear waiting for me at the arrival hall, I cried. Don't know but i just felt so glad to see him again.. I guess thou I was having fun in BKK, a part of me still misses him alot.. =)

Before I end off this very long entry, some recaps...

Cindy from Malaysia who is very pretty and looks like Zhen Shi Mei, Vienna, a very petite lady from HK and me!

Me and my thai branding representative who take cares of Singapore

This girl take care of the PR matters related to Singapore

The handsome & eligible bachalor aka country mgr who tk care of SG, MY & HK markets. (p/s: my friends said my dear look like him..)

He's one cool dancer who can really make you go 'pheew wee...'

She's from taiwan!

This lady here coordinated the whole workshop! Kudos to her!

He's a malaysian working in Thai. Working hard for his thai gf.. =)
The so-called F4 who disappointed us with their dance steps... but they are still cute!
>Left to right: Mik (Country rep of SG), Deric (Country rep of MY), Tae (Country rep of HK), Jack (Country rep of TW)

They are the bunch of friends who made my BKK trip memorable...
~land of smiles...~
