Wednesday, November 28, 2007 ( I'm a stage addict @ 3:15 PM ) Well, finally managed to squeeze some time to do abit of update. Wanted to upload many many photos but due to some 'logistics' problems, I guess the photos will only be up here in the next entry. Nov is coming to an end and gosh, this has got to be the most happening Nov in my entire life till date! I just can't wait to share with you guys.. The whole of Nov saw me spending time rehersing for my xmas charity gig as well as practising for my 1st ever public dance performance! Prior to the above, my company held its first ever staffs' gathering at my boss's condo on 17Nov. Dear acompanied me as the boss said those with family can bring them along & those with bf/gf can also join in. Didn't really spend much time at the gathering.. anyway, I didn't really felt anything really wow or special about it..=X Alright work aside... fast forward to 20th Nov. I took leave from work as we (Replugged Music) were involved in a Xmas Charity Performance for The Salvation Army at Furama RiverFront Hotel. To be more exact, we are just singing while the old folks are having their sumptuous lunch! The 4 of us (Me, Manlin, Angeline & Jasmine) and our dear keyboardist (Juliet Pang - aka lady boss of Replugged) performed an oriental xmas medley. We sung " 夜来香 – main by Manlin , 南屏晚钟 – main by me!, White Christmas – main by Angeline, 车站 – main by Jasmine and lastly 一人一半 by all of us. Oh yar, we had some really ‘cute’ dance steps to go with all the songs k. All thanks to Juliet. hAhA.. We did some harmonizing as well but I guess partly cus we didn’t really prac hard enough hence it didn’t really sound that harmonise… We took lots of fotos! & I really mean lots! hAha.. Juliet had her lomo-camera with her & the effect of the camera is really fantastic! Kang Yang was there as well.. to be the video-grapher cum cameraman. But he pro lo.. use iPhone as the camera.. =p It was indeed a great experience for me as I felt that it was a honor to be able to represent Replugged & also to be able to know the 3 other girls & Juliet better. Really hope I can look forward to something even more grand in 2008! Oh btw, cus I felt so much feel from the song “车站”, I’ve decided to list it as one of my ‘must-sing’ song in KTV. So whoever is going to join me for my next KTV session, be prepared! Haha.. That following week on Sun (25th Nov) was my very first public dance performance at JB City Square! We are going to be one of the guest performance for the Soul Rhythm Dance Competition that day! I woke up at 530am in the morning, prepared & headed to Tampines with my sis to meet up with Melissa. We bought Mac’s breakfast & ate on the bus towards Woodlands Interchange. Instead of feeling slpy ( FYI:I only had 4hrs of slp!), I was feeling excited & looking forward to the whole thing! Met up with the rest of the Phatest members (Kelly, Daphne + Ivy, YY, Colin) and the very eye-catching group of us took the bus to the checkpoint and into JB! When we arrived at City Square, we were informed that we are the only team from Singapore and thus we were like ‘representing’ Singapore.. hAha.. sounds so serious. But regardless of whether we are representing SG or just Phatest, we still hope to do well & not throw face (Singaporeans afterall do want their face very much…) We ‘walked’ the stage and then went to the back to let Colin do up our hair & make up. I realised when ppl do my hair, they like to make it ‘pom’ & then tie the whole bunch to one side.. But at least it wasn’t ugly la.. hAha… We were told that our item will be up around 12noon but after waiting for an hr, they told us “等这组比赛过后，就是你们了。。。” and so we waited…. And waited… and waited… till finally about 2pm then they said “Stand by, 这两组比完后，就是你们了.” Honestly, we were already feeling rather sian already and just wanted to get it over & done with. Oh yar, did I mentioned that Anthrea gave mi a pleasant surprise. She told me the night before that she can’t come down & support me but in the end, she appeared with Eik Chyun & Stone! So sweet! Dear also came over to give me his support.. Afterall, it’s the first time he will be seeing me dance! Lucky for him, my sis’s bf drove him over as he also need to come & support my sis! Felt abit paiseh cus they seems to have also waited for quite some time & our performance was like only 3mins plus…? Will try to upload the video if I face no violent objections from the other crew mates. =) Eik Chyun & her husband treated dear & I to the Ya Kun Yong Tau Foo… Very nice.. Do you know it’s the same Yong Tau Foo in Food Republic. The one in which one bowl can cost you about S$10!! But in JB, it was only about half the price lo… We headed back SG around 4pm plus. Din get to shop in JB thou I had changed some money.. haha.. Was dead beat when I reached home. I bathe & collapsed on the bed till 7pm. Felt a craving for LJS, but it was raining so dear had to carry the umbrella & sheltered us to Eastpoint for LJS. I think I’m kinda addicted to the stage. Really like the feeling of being up there & doing what I enjoy, be it singing or dancing. =) Hope there’ll be more of such chances in future. ~if you wish hard enough for something, you will get it~ 0 comments |
