Wednesday, May 13, 2009 ( SSO - Faust @ 10:46 AM ) I went for a ‘high-class’ concert on the 1st Sat of May with Eik Chyun and Ant. The tix were proudly sponsored by our bride-to-be aka Eik Chyun. Apparently it was supposed to be her hubby and his bro who were supposed to go with her but due to some poor planning, me and ant had the honor to replace them instead. =) The concert was titled “Faust” and was performed by Singapore Symphony Orchestra together with Singapore Symphony Chorus, Singapore Bible College Chorale, Hallelujah Chorus, Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir & 4 other vocalists, each performing their role as a mezzo-soprano, tenor, bass & bass-baritone. It was really an interesting experience for me cus I’ll never expect myself to buy tickets for such concert and I had actually thought that I would sleep through the concert. Our dear sponsor didn’t really tell us what the concert was about and I only knew it was some SSO thingy so I thought it would be rather bored (though I was from Chinese orchestra but I think if you want me to sit through a 3hr concert listening to symphony, I’ll fall asleep lo!) but thankful that there were some choir and of course the vocalists were also entertaining because they were not just singing but they were like using their singing to act out the show and of course with the compliments of some actions and facial expression! There were some really funny parts which made the 3 of us laugh and of course we also saw a few other weird ppl who actually sleep throughout the show…. Tried to take some photos but we weren’t allowed to do so within the hall… but still ant did tried to snap a few la.. haha.. all photos are with the other 2 ladies so waiting for them to update their blogs… Fast forward. My bro finally entered NS! Too bad I couldn’t go with him to Tekong…. Really want to see how tekong looks like.. haha.. he came home last fri after his 2 weeks confinement. Ok la. I could get used to his botak head and abit tanned skin. Din really see him much cus most of the time he was out with his gf and I was out with my bf. Haha….reminds of ‘my’ NS days with dear dear…lol was really tempted to go for the AQH auditions but alas the slots for 11 May were all taken up and the next available date is on 20th May and very 'lucky' me has got to work on that day due to some event so i guess it's fated that I shouldn't go for the auditions. Anyway, i had fun practising with dear for the auditions... it's been so long since he really played the guitar and i sang.... =) i hope we can do this more often. Pighead!
