Saturday, May 16, 2009 ( sunday movie sat watch @ 10:59 PM ) I told him "let's go catch Angels & Demons this sat @ The Cathay" and he said "Ok". He bought the tix online and so we planned our Sat date. Sat came and we went over to The Cathey to collect the tix. He passed his credit card to the counter girl and she gave us the tix. 4.20pm. We decided to go into the cinema earlier though the show was only supposed to start at 4.40pm. I passed the tix to the staff who was in charge of checking our tix and he took it and tear off the sides and then passed the tix back to us. We strolled into the cinema and realised that we were really early as we were the 3rd and 4th person in the cinema. He told me he booked the special seats i.e couple seats and so we looked for our seats and happily sinked into the seats. The show started on time but the audience were slow to enter. Perhaps most of them thought that most cinemas don't start on time thus didn't made any effort to come in early. The show was going for almost 20mins+ when seats in our row started to fill up. This was when the off-screen drama was about to begin. Two ladies came in to the cinema, headed for our row and begin to ask if the seats beside us were wrongly taken up. Well, nope. The guys got their seats correctly. So they asked if WE took their seats by mistake. We took out our tix and said "No, our seats are _09 & _10." The guys related our replies to the ladies. The 2 ladies were baffled as their tix were also _09 & _10. They made some comments and then went out of the cinema. Moments later. They returned with one of the cinema staff and asked for our tix again. This time round, he was quite annoyed so he went out of the cinema with them to sort it out. He returned shortly and told me that the cinema had made some mistake because there this grp of ppl who made grp booking for that row and apparently the system corked up so we managed to book our tix as well. But since we came first and have paid for the tix, let's just continue with our show. Alas, minutes later, the staff returned again asking for our tix and he decided to go out again to trash it out with them. When he next returned back to the cinema, he told me to take my bag and get out of the cinema with him. This was when I finally realised what was going on.... Apparently our tix was for the same movie, same timing BUT on SUNDAY and NOT SATURADAY! The person who booked the movie somehow booked the wrong date though he strongly feel that he did saw the correct date when he made the booking! Anyhow, after much 'investigation', yes, our tix were for Sun and not Sat... Of cus, there's no way I'm (or maybe we) gg to admit that it's our full fault cus shouldn't the staff at the check point realised our tix were for the wrong date and stop us from entering the cinema then? This way, we wouldn't have sat on someone else's seats and we wouldn't have wasted almost 45mins on the show that we couldn't finished and we wouldn't have wasted our money! Well well... thank goodness the mgr was very nice and understanding so he gave us a pair of complimentary pass so that we can use it for our next movie. Needless to say, I quickly pulled him out of the building and we decided to venture away from the area in case we see those people in the cinema and make ourselves so ma lu.... Oh ya, it was also very paiseh for me cus at one point when he was out of the cinema negotiating with the staff, the guy seating beside me actually tried to explain & apologise to me that the cinema made a mistake becus of some double booking problem and thus creating so much inconveniences. OMG! I hope he'll nv find out the truth of this incident cus I think if he does, he's so going to KP me... Btw, to protect the 'face' of the main culprit of the above embarassing episode, i've did not named him here. haha... ;p On a happier note (actually the above was really hilarious and i think i can tease him for some time on that.. haha), we went to esplanade to catch some free performances at the outdoor theatre and there were 2 kids who created so much entertainment for me! The band was playing really rock and hard on stage and the two little boys who obviously do not know each other (one was i think french and another chinese) started to dance to the music and each of them were pretending to be the drummer & the guitarist! Oh my, they were really very cute and it was such a funny sight to see them 'drumming' and 'strumming' with the music! Too bad i didn't video them down!
